Successful In Vitro Inhalation Workshop at Institute for In Vitro Sciences, Inc.

July 3, 2025

Last week, IIVS, AlveoliX, and Vitrocell hosted a highly successful hands-on workshop in Gaithersburg.

The excellent facilities at IIVS provided the perfect setting to demonstrate key aspects of in vitro inhalation research, including cell culture quality control, the preparation of precision-cut lung slices, and advanced exposure technologies for liquid aerosols and dry powders.

The impressive functionality and user-friendly handling of the AlveoliX AX12 lung-on-chip system were clearly demonstrated under laboratory conditions.

All participants were able to deepen their expertise and gained valuable practical insights and tips.

Amanda’s presentation on Good In Vitro Method Practices (GIVIMP) provided a solid foundation for the reliable and reproducible conduct of in vitro studies – an excellent basis for validation.

We sincerely thank the entire IIVS team for their outstanding professionalism and flawless organization of the workshop.

This event has further motivated us to continue promoting this practical and knowledge-driven transfer of expertise.

A big thank you to our speakers – Holger Behrsing, Vivek Patel, Amanda Ulrey, Pauline Zamprogno, and Paul Schumacher – for their insightful presentations, and to all participants for their active engagement and thoughtful questions.
