The VITROCELL® Abrasive Dust Generator generates dust particles which occur in grinding, cutting or other abrasive processes.
Aerosols containing particles from the following materials can be produced to evaluate their impact on human health:
- Synthetic materials
- Metals
- Ceramics
- Glass-fiber reinforced plastics
- Carbon-fiber reinforced plastics
Cutting speed, feed rate and operation mode can be adjusted to generate an aerosol with different concentrations and aerosol properties. The aerosol is directly removed after the cutting process and guided to the exposure system where 1 m
3/h of aerosol will be available for further investigation. Depending on feed rate and aerosol concentration the generator is capable of continuous delivery up to 6 h.
