Emerging vaping products, including those from illicit trade, raise important questions about their potential health effects. How can we assess their impact on human lung cells?
Understanding the connection between exposure and biological response is a key part of the answer.
We have successfully completed the installation of a VITROCELL VC Essentials Vape & Smoke Machine combined with a VC 12/7 Exposure Module for Dr. Koustav Ganguly and his team at the Institute for Integrative and Innovative Research (I³R) at the University of Arkansas.
The setup expands the team’s capabilities for controlled in vitro aerosol exposure, supporting studies that connect defined exposure conditions with cellular responses.
At I³R, the wider research programme brings together chemical analysis, human lung models and regulatory expertise to investigate emerging nicotine products and generate evidence that can inform public-health decisions.
Thank you to Dr. Ganguly and the team for your trust, the collaboration and the scientific exchange. We look forward to seeing the research this installation will enable.
