Controlled aerosol sampling and delivery to Analyzers

To investigate the effects of aerosols on human cell cultures, accurate knowledge of the test aerosol composition is essential in addition to exposure at the Air-Liquid Interface (ALI).
The VITROCELL® Aerosol Sampling System enables representative and reproducible aerosol sampling for comprehensive chemical and physical characterization. An integrated pump draws in the aerosols directly from the source and distributes it to multiple analytical instruments, ensuring comparable measurements.Key parameters such as flow rate, temperature, humidity, and pressure are continuously monitored and displayed in real time. User-defined alarm limits help protect sensitive equipment by automatically stopping sampling when required. Optional particle fractionation using impactors or cyclone separators allows analysis of PM10 and PM2.5 aerosol fractions.
Sub-samples for individual analytical instruments are taken from the main sampling stream. Where required, these are provided through application-specific isokinetic sampling arrangements (e.g., according to Baron & Willeke, Hinds, or VDI 2066 guidelines).
This ensures that each instrument receives the test aerosol under optimal conditions for its respective analytical method.
All aerosol guiding tubes are made of stainless steel and connected via ISO-KF quick connectors. This ensures easy assembly, cleaning and aerosol transport with low particle losses.
