Following the VITROCELL® User Group Meeting 2017 in Baltimore, international scientists from Canada, Europe, Japan and USA reconvened in March 2018.
The informal event organized into short presentations and posters was followed by open discussions. It was an excellent opportunity to discuss the latest developments of VITROCELL®, to exchange your experience in working with the equipment and to meet other fellow researchers.
The meeting took place prior to the international Society of Toxicology 57th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo, March 11 – 15, 2018, in San Antonio, USA – one of the largest international conferences related to toxicology.
Focus of the event was to share VITROCELL® activities since the last meeting, to exchange latest research results, to give an update on VITROCELL’s participation in major research programs as well as the presentation of new products for 2018.
Highlights were:
- Update on the validation of the VITROCELL® 24/48 and AMES 48 exposure systems:
7 doses @ 6 replicates plus one clean air control @ 6 replicates.
- New versatile 5-channel linear smoking machine VITROCELL® VC 1 S-TYPE:
for chemical characterization and in vitro testing of electronic and combustion cigarettes as well as next generation products (NGP).
- New Quartz Crystal Microbalance system (hvQCM):
for simultaneous use with deposition enhancement by electrical field
- Long-term exposures in VITROCELL® Automated Exposure Stations:
Presentation of first data on 24 h exposures
- C3 Carbon Concrete Composite Project:
start up of Abrasive Dust Generator, Automated Exposure Station and online dosimetry tools for gas and particle phase
- Several customer presentations on VITROCELL® Cloud Systems incl. of the new VITROCELL® Cloud SEQ 24
- Integration of the AlveoliX Lung-on-Chip into VITROCELL® exposure Systems
