Back from European Society of Toxicology in Vitro ESTIV 2026 in Maastricht — and our heads are still full of good conversations, smart questions and plenty of ALI momentum.
At booth #21, we presented VITROCELL inhalation exposure and AlveoliX organ on chip solutions and discussed current work with researchers from academia, industry and regulatory science. It was also great to see many posters and talks featuring studies with our systems. The best kind of “product feedback”: real science in action.
Two sessions stood out for us:
“Guidance for In Vitro Air-Liquid Interface Inhalation Toxicity Assessment” showed how important harmonized ALI models, robust dosimetry, dose extrapolation, IVIVE and AOP thinking are if in vitro inhalation data are to move closer to regulatory use.
“Application & Standardisation of In Vitro Inhalation Methods for Academia and Industry” picked up the practical side: NAMs such as 3D lung models, precision-cut lung slices and Organ-on-Chip are moving fast — but aerosol generation, dose determination and GIVIMP-compliant workflows still need careful hands-on work.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, challenged us with detailed questions and kept the discussion moving. Now we can really say that Maastricht was a good place to build bridges — now let’s keep walking across them.
