Gaining Biosafety Experience at DEVCOM

August 20, 2026

Defense Threat Reduction Agency (Defense Threat Reduction Agency) and U.S. Army DEVCOM Chemical Biological Center (U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command) recently invited Vitrocell Systems GmbH to gain hands-on experience in BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratory environments.

The goal was to evaluate how our equipment and key components can be handled and operated under these highly demanding biosafety conditions.

Marc Mamier brought selected VITROCELL components to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and, under the guidance of the DEVCOM team, tested their handling under BSL-3 and BSL-4 conditions. The results were very encouraging and provided valuable insights that will directly influence our future product developments.

This workshop was an exceptional opportunity for us to better understand the practical challenges of working in high-containment laboratories.

Many thanks to Priscilla Lee and the entire DEVCOM team for the excellent organization and for sharing their expertise and experience with us.
