Leading experts in tobacco and e-cigarette research from around the world gathered last week in Richmond for a dynamic exchange on product science and technology. The conference was kindly hosted by McKinney Specialty Labs.
We took part in two meetings:

> NGTX: 21st Century Toxicology for Next Generation Tobacco and Nicotine Products Task Force.

Smaller breakout groups focused on crucial topics in our field:
> Designing an interlaboratory study for whole aerosol exposure of lung cells at the air-liquid interface
> Standardisation and best best practises for in vitro aerosol testing methods at the air-lquid interface, including dosimetry
These activities represent significant progress toward animal-free health risk assessment and more robust proposals for regulatory authorities.
