The aim of this poster is to show the development of an in vitro model to exposure two different pollutants, a chemical pollutant (formaldehyde-FA) and a biological contaminant (Aspergillus fumigatus-Asp),were assessed in vitro on epithelial respiratory cells (A549).The results are shown in cellular viability (LDH assay), local inflammation, IL-8, MCP-1 and mRNA expression quantified by RT-PCR.

This article shows a method for the identification of chemical respiratory allergens. Two respiratory allergens were applied to a 3D co-culture cell system model at the air/liquid interface, mimicking the in-vivo situation in the lung.

This study was conducted to compare the mutagenicity of mainstream whole-smoke and wet total particulate matter from two sets of experimental cigarettes to determine if menthol has an effect on this endpoint. All cigarettes were smoked under ISO on a VITROCELL® VC10 smoking robot. TA98 and TA100 were exposed in the VITROCELL® Ames exposure modules.
